Koch Brothers has Partnership Agreement with ONEOK who is Tied to Keystone XL and TransCanada, ONEOK’s Gas Pipelines Connected to TransCanada’s Oil Pipelines the Potential Fireball and Ruptured Pipelines, Part 3

The various arrangements sells and limited partnership agreement between the Koch Brothers and ONEOK came along the same time the Keystone XL was proposed over a half a decade ago. The sells and agreement all came on the heal of one another in 2005. Also around that time ONEOK through several business transactions would also increase its interest in TransCanada, while also creating ONEOK Partners, LP who who would also have some interest in TransCanada. Its quite interesting the name changes, the sells that go back in between because in some cases there are more than one name for the same company. Confusing referring to companies to old names when they have very influential name. Maybe then that is the point. I think I will leave at that over the names for another day, and oh not to mention the interesting sales, that too will have to be for another day.

This was the latest blog in reference to the ONEOK, Transcanada, Koch
Koch Brothers has Partnership Agreement with ONEOK who is Tied to Keystone XL and TransCanada, ONEOK’s Gas Pipelines Connected to TransCanada’s Oil Pipelines the Potential Fireball and Ruptured Pipelines, Part 3

TransCanada Northern Border Inc. operates as a subsidiary of ONEOK Inc. filed application to construct and operate two buried natural gas pipelines, Bison and Pathfinder, and according to a project website “TransCanada has brought $10 billion of growth projects into service including the first and second phases of the Keystone Pipeline System, the Bison and Guadalajara natural gas pipelines.” The Bison Pipeline was connected to the the Northern Border Pipeline Company in which ONEOK, LP and TC Pipeline both own (TC is also a subsidiary of TransCanada). Koch Industries is affiliated with partner in ONEOK. Inc and from previous sources already blogged about I find there is a document concerning saying the Secretary of State in New Mexico acknowledges a limited partnership agreement saying business transactions would be under the name ONEOK Hydrocarbon LP. In-spite several Key purchases from Koch Industries which are a part of ONEOK’s current project there is a partnership that was formed where eventually everything would be operated under the ONEOK Hydrocarbon LP.
Previous blogs concerning ONEOK and Koch Industries are:
TransCanada Northern Border Inc. (Keystone XL) is a Subsidiary of ONEOK Inc., and ONEOK Inc. has a Partnership with Koch Industries

In the first blog I go into greater detail involving the partnership between ONEOK.
Fro example: 10.27 Limited Liability Company Membership Interest Purchase Agreement between Koch Hydrocarbon

Management Company, LLC and ONEOK, Inc. dated May 9, 2005 (incorporated by reference from

Exhibit 10.4 to the Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2005, filed August 3, 2005).

ONEOK Limited Partnership Pipeline Expansion, Which Koch Industries is Partners of also in Appears to be Tied to the Keystone XL, Part 2

The Bison Pipeline has already had some incidences landowners are concerned about. TransCanada Northern Border Inc. a subsidiary of ONEOK is the operator of the Bison gas pipeline which represents part of Phase I of the Keystone XL. At one time TransCanada Northern Border Inc. was once a part of TransCanada but under a different name. Landowners are already having issues with the Bison Gas pipelines. The Billings Gazette reported the Bison Gas Pipeline exploded on July 20, 2011.

I have Included two different lists of pipeline ruptures and explosions. The lists demonstrate the risk of these pipelines for what Republicans considered will create several thousands of jobs but according to another source those thousands of jobs are only temporary jobs. According to other sources the Keystone XL will only create a few hundred permanent jobs. TransCanada, themselves have also confessed that these pipeline will only create a few hundred permanent jobs. In other words you won’t be getting nothing while bringing more hazards to communities. The Keystone XL is 1,700-miles of pipelines running through several states. The movement of Canada’s crude oil requires a lot of Gas. All of this is so Oil and Gas companies can make more profits at the risk of the environment, the health and safety of Americans. Don’t buy what their selling, it’s not worth it. Republicans in Congress proposed plans propose during the Payroll tax debate means President Obama has to decide on approval of the Keystone XL going forward in less than sixty days. Wall Street has had its way with the American people, we can’t fall for the Fool’s Gold these Oil and Gas companies are offering. Let your voice be heard, if you oppose this risk.

Here are some new additional statements and links in my research about the Keystone XL.

TransCanada Northern Border Inc. operates natural gas pipelines. The company was formerly known as TransCan Northwest Border Ltd. The company was incorporated in 2002 and is based in Omaha, Nebraska. TransCanada Northern Border Inc. operates as a subsidiary of ONEOK Inc.

Before the name change and being owned by OneOk TransCan Northern Ltc was owned by TransCanada Pipelines as you see mentioned.
“TransCan Northern Ltd. is a direct wholly owned subsidiary of TransCanada PipeLines Limited and its sole purpose is to hold a 100% ownership interest in TC PipeLines GP, Inc. and TransCan Northwest Border Ltd. The executive officers and directors of TransCan Northern Ltd. are listed on Appendix B hereto.”

Northern Border Pipeline Company operates as a natural gas transportation company. The company operates a gas pipeline that links the Midwestern U.S. with reserves in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. It also receives and transports natural gas produced in the Williston and Powder River Basins in the United States; and synthetic natural gas produced at the Dakota Gasification plant in North Dakota. The company was founded in 1978 and is based in Omaha, Nebraska. Northern Border Pipeline Company operates as a subsidiary of ONEOK Partners Intermediate L.P. and TC PipeLines Intermediate Limited

TC Pipe lines is a subsidiary of TransCanada in which TransCanada sold 25 per cent interest in each of Gas Transmission Northwest LLC (GTN) and Bison Pipeline LLC (Bison) to TC PipeLines, LP in 2011 to TC. As mentioned before ONEOk’s subsidiary is the operator of the Bison gas pipeline.

Potential cumulative impacts associated with the proposed Bison Pipeline Project and Green Pipeline would be habitat fragmentation, land use issues and viewshed degradation. Further, a potential pipeline that would connect the Bakken Formation and the proposed Project area could potentially result in similar additional cumulative impacts to these resources. Should these or other unidentified pipelines be under construction
at the same time as the Project, there may also be impacts to noise and air quality.

“The company’s Keystone 1 pipeline spilled more than 12 times in its first year of operation, including a 21,000-gallon spill in North Dakota in May 2011 that shot a 60-foot geyser of oil into the air.”

ONEOK, LP only business is gas, and they already directly connected to TransCanada’s pipelines from Canada to Illinois. Further down in this blog I mention the gas pipelines ONEOK is connected to TransCanada’s oilpipelines. Since 2005 their have been many similarities involving ONEOK, LP concerning the Keystone XL.

The Keystone XL is nothing more than how to make more profits and how to put an end to talks about Green Energy, so that black oil can rein. To see both lists of pipeline and explosions and ruptures you can find at the bottom of this blog. (Two different list with different information means it’s possible this list is incomplete).

If you’re wondering who will profit the most, from crude oil running from Canada you would need a big sifter of all the companies to sift to who own, sold and entered into a partnership with whom.but from the looks of it Koch Industries is positioned to do well. Not only through a limited partner ship with ONEOK LP, will Koch Industries profit, but also with the Enbridge and Kinder Morgan expansion in the Bakkens of North Dakota.

Sierra Club

-The only independent study on the Keystone XL’s job, impacts, produced by the Cornell Global Labor Institute, projected that Keytone XL would have a negative net impact on employment in the United States.

-Keystone XL proponents are using discredited estimates of the project’s employment impacts thatproject that the pipeline will create jobs for dancer, choreographers and speech therapists a long the pipeline’s rural route.

-The State Department’s own study shows that the pipeline’s construction will require no more than 6,000 direct temporary jobs and TransCanada itself has admited would require just a few hundred permanent job to operate and maintain

The Sierra Club was founded in 1982 is considered the oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States.

According to this article by Tars Sands Actions gas cost will increase for Americans and especially farmers. The article is called Key Facts on Keystone XL: Energy Security: Tar Sand will not Reduce Dependence on Foreign Oil. It goes into great detail about crude oil will effect us.

“According to an independent analysis U.S. farmers, who spent $12.4 billion on fuel in 2009 could see expenses rise to $15 billion or higher in 2012 or 2013 if the pipeline goes through. At least $500 million of the added expense would come from the Canadian market manipulation.”

Article: How Tar Sands Exacerbate Climate Change

According to the Pembina Institute, the tar sands are Canada’s fastest growing source of greenhouse gas emissions. More than 40% of the increase in Canadian greenhouse gas emissions between 2003 and 2010 is projected to be as a direct result of new tar sands developments.

Tar sands developments release greenhouse gas emissions and spur climate change in a number of ways:

Energy is required to upgrade the tar sands.

Upgrading creates a lighter “synthetic crude oil”, which can be used by most refineries. To do this, large amounts of natural gas are used to produce hydrogen, which is used in a number of bitumen upgrading processes.

Energy is required to ship tar sands crude.

Pipeline pumps may be powered by burning diesel or natural gas, or by using electricity (which may have come from burning natural gas or coal).

Energy is required to refine tar sands crude oil.

Energy is required to dispose of waste products.

A further look at the danger of gas lines and oil pipelines.

The following comes from an article I read and it is called: In BC, Pipes Spell Double Trouble

It was published on June 20, 2011

To read the rest of article: http://www.dominionpaper.ca/articles/3990

A recent study from Cornell University indicates that natural gas extracted from shale through a process known as hydraulic fracturing (“fracking”) may actually release more carbon emissions in the long run than coal or oil.

Oil and gas pipelines running side by side also make a dangerous combination.

East of the Morice River, lying to the west of the town of Smithers, BC, a significant distance separates the proposed route of the Enbridge oil pipeline and that of KSL. However, closer to the river as well as to the west, the proposed pipelines would run side by side.

“When they go up the Morice and through the coast mountains to Kitimat, they’re right on top of each other,” said Ferris. “The basic probability of failure is an explosion, why would you ever allow an oil pipeline to be built next to the KSL pipeline?”

“I’ve never seen Enbridge acknowledge the KSL pipeline,” she said, “and what hazard the KSL pipeline is going to pose to an oil pipeline.”

Enbridge did not return this reporter’s request for an interview before press time.

1982 – One of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history occurred along the Trans-Siberian Pipeline in the former Soviet Union. It has been alleged that the explosion was the result of CIA sabotage of the Trans-Siberian Pipeline.

June 4, 1989 – sparks from two passing trains detonated gas leaking from an LPG pipeline near Ufa, Russia. Up to 645 people were reported killed.

October 17, 1998 – 1998 Jesse pipeline explosion at Jesse in the Niger Delta in Nigeria, a petroleum pipeline exploded killing about 1,200 villagers, some of whom were scavenging gasoline – the worst of several similar incidents in this country.

June 10, 1999 – a pipeline rupture in a Bellingham, Washington park led to the release of 277,200 gallons of gasoline. The gasoline was ignited, causing an explosion that killed two children and one adult.

August 19, 2000 – natural gas pipeline rupture and fire near Carlsbad, New Mexico; this explosion and fire killed 12 members of the same family. The cause was due to severe internal corrosion of the pipeline.

July 30, 2004 – a major natural gas pipeline exploded in Ghislenghien, Belgium near Ath (thirty kilometres southwest of Brussels), killing at least 24 people and leaving 132 wounded, some critically. (Expatica)

May 12, 2006 – an oil pipeline ruptured outside Lagos, Nigeria. Up to 200 people may have been killed. See Nigeria oil blast.

November 1, 2007 – a propane pipeline exploded near Carmichael, Mississippi, about 30 miles (48 km) south of Meridian, Mississippi. Two people were killed instantly and an additional four were injured. Several homes were destroyed and sixty families were displaced. The pipeline is owned by Enterprise Products Partners LP, and runs from Mont Belvieu, Texas, to Apex, North Carolina, according to an Enterprise spokesman.[21]

On the Website for Kochpipeline.com it says as follow: “Crude Oil Transportation and Gathering Systems Koch Pipeline Company, L.P. operates proprietary and common carrier crude oil pipelines that deliver to refining centers in the Midwest and Texas. Minnesota Pipe Line Company, LLC completed an expansion of the Minnesota Pipe Line system in 2008. The 304-mile new pipeline combines with the existing system to deliver Canadian and Rockies crude oil, including Bakken, from the Enbridge system in Clearbrook, Minn., to refineries in the Twin Cities. This system can easily be expanded to accommodate the growing supply of these crudes.” It is believe two companies belonging to Koch Industries that are supposed to benefit from the Kinder Morgan expansion. Koch Wood and Flint Hill Resources.

ONEOK LP, Partnering With the Koch Brothers and their violations and the potential of ONEOK LP’s gas pipe lines being connected with Keystone XL is a Potential Fire Bomb to happen and not to forget the hazard of leaked oil pipelines and all of this is being run through several states. I have included also information some have been concerned over the past with Enbridge’s gas lines and oil pipelines.

ONEOK would buy and a limited partnership with Koch Industries over Koch Hydrocarbon. (I go into a lot more detailed specifics in verifying that limited partnership). You might as well call Koch the silent partner in all this. In 2011 when the Keystone XL was up for debate, the Koch brothers speaking to Congress in support of the project.

In-spite of the similar projects, timing and seeking approval one of the thing that kept throwing me off with the ONEOK Limited Partnership pipelines being ran were actually gas lines. I’m not thrown any more. Another thing that kept throwing me off was are it seems to be I was missing was did the ONEOK LP run gas pipe lines or have plans to run pipelines Texas. That too through further research I have found my answers, and like I previously blogged there are too many new coincidences that say the use of ONEOK Limited Partnership is a part of the Keystone XL. If not someone may want to check an employee leak to ONEOK LP. Well not anymore all of TransCanada’s pipelines connections running from Canada to Illinois are connected with ONEOK LP pipelines and say that ONEOK LP is the operator. I further understand there is a reason for using the ONEOK LP gas lines is because crude oil is so thick that it requires a lot of gas to move it.

It’s mentioned that the Keystone XL will create 1000s of jobs by oil and gas companies and Republicans, but according to the Sierra Club that’s Temporary jobs and actually only a few hundred jobs. I will further add that link. The President has less than 60 days to make a decision on the Keystone XL, and clearly in my opinion this project isn’t worth it.

Here is a brief look at some of the business relationship between ONEOK, LP and TransCanada.

The Northern Border Pipeline, Great Lakes Transmission, Viking Pipeline and the ANR pipeline which all can associated with TransCanada can also be associated with ONEOK. For example as described here according to ONEOK: “Viking Gas Transmission is a natural gas pipeline which takes gas from TransCanada pipeline in Minnesota and brings it to Wisconsin. It is owned by ONEOK Partners. Its FERC code is 82.”

-And-

“Viking connects with major pipeline systems (TransCanada, Northern Natural, Great Lakes Transmission, and ANR), allowing it to serve strategic markets in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.”

Viking Gas Transmission is owned by the ONEOK Partners.

Not only does ONEOK LP gas lines connect with TransCanada’s pipelines, well it turns out the only thing that ONEOK, LP runs are only gas pipe lines. So it would be likely as I mentioned before as far as moving crude oil through pipelines requires gas this could represent one reason being for the use of ONEOK LP.

As you see ONEOK LP gas lines are connecting the TranCanda’s pipelines. If gas lines explode especially near where these oil and gas pipelines connect you have a fire-ball and blown oil pipe lines where the two meet.

The Northern Border Pipeline is own by the ONEOK partners and TC Pipelines, and TC Pipelines actually is a subsidiary of TransCanada. This is another added on reason for my belief that ONEOK isn’t just some company that happen along who has very similar ideals in similar locations.

Northern Border: The Northern Border Pipeline, owned by TC Pipelines and ONEOK Partners, is a 1,249 mile pipeline originating at the Port of Morgan in Montana and terminating near North Hayden, Indiana. The pipeline has a system receipt capacity of 2.37 BCFD, a large portion of which is supplied with Canadian natural gas through a receipt point with the Foothills Pipeline at the Port of Morgan.  The Williston Basin Interstate Pipeline interconnects with the Northern Border Pipeline in North Dakota in three locations, Charbonneau, Manning, and Glen Ullin. The 42 inch diameter Northern Border Pipeline also receives gas deliveries in North Dakota from Bear Paw Energy at Ft. Buford, Hess at Watford City, and Dakota Gasification Co. at Hebron (Northern Border, 2010).

The Bakken expansion for ONEOK LP has three phases and the third phase called Sterling III revamps their gas lines so that they extend to Texas. The Bakkens is in North Dakota but are also apart of Canada. TransCanada, Enbridge, and Kinder Morgan all are involved in the Bakken in the hopes of pipeline expansion. On of the issues facing TransCanada is the route it will take and the interconnection it faces. That maybe one reason that also in ONEOK is also in the Bakkens to help with moving the Keystone XL by providing more gas line to move Canada’s crude oil.

Already in 2010 ONEOK LP had already set up shop in 2010. Perhaps they were preparing the way for bigger things yet to come.

ONEOK Announces New Gas Plant

On April 21, 2010, ONEOK Partners announced a new 100 MMCFD natural gas processing plant in eastern McKenzie County. The new “Garden Creek” plant will double ONEOK’s processing capacity in North Dakota and is expected to be complete in late 2011. ONEOK estimates the new processing plant will require an investment of $150 – $210 million. An additional $200 – $205 million is scheduled to be invested

in new gathering infrastructure during 2010 and 2011 to supply ONEOK’s gas processing facilities

Quintana Capital Group: On June 9, 2010, Quintana Capital Group filed a letter of intent with the ND

Public Service Commission for a new pipeline project that would connect the major producing regions of the Williston Basin with TransCanada’s Keystone XL pipeline in Eastern Montana. The proposed pipeline would have an initial capacity of 100,000 BOPD and could be expanded to 120,000 BOPD. A pipeline consisting of 165 miles of 10 inch and 12 inch pipe would connect production in Williams, McKenzie, and Mountrail Counties to a 145 mile, 16 inch pipeline that would interconnect with the Keystone XL pipeline near Baker, MT. At the end of June, Quintana held a non-binding expression of interest period

for producers/shippers in the Williston Basin to gain the necessary support to move forward. An open season for the project is expected, but has not been scheduled. The pipeline has a proposed startup of March 2013 and is estimated to cost $250 million.

The Quintana Capital Group makes equity investments across the oil and natural gas, coal and power industries.

TransCanada needs help in the Williston Basin it seems ONEOK would be on its way.

ONEOK, LP

Construct a new 570-plus-mile, 16-inch diameter natural gas liquids (NGL) pipeline, the Sterling III Pipeline, to transport either unfractionated NGLs or NGL purity products from the Mid-Continent region to the Texas Gulf Coast;

Reconfigure its existing Sterling I and II NGL distribution pipelines to transport either unfractionated NGLs or NGL purity products; and

Build a new 75,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) NGL fractionator, MB-2, at Mont Belvieu, Texas.

ONEOK, LP

In December 2010, the partnership announced plans to install additional pump stations on the Arbuckle Pipeline to increase its capacity to 240,000 bpd from 180,000 bpd by the first half of 2012. The Arbuckle Pipeline is a 440-mile NGL pipeline that extends from southern Oklahoma through the Barnett Shale of north Texas and on to the partnership’s fractionation and storage facilities at Mont Belvieu on the Texas Gulf Coast.

ONEOK, LP

Construction of three new natural gas processing plants, with a combined capacity of 300 MMcf/d, and related infrastructure in the Bakken Shale in the Williston Basin in North Dakota;

Construction of a 525- to 615-mile NGL pipeline, the Bakken Pipeline, to transport unfractionated NGLs produced from the Bakken Shale in the Williston Basin to the Overland Pass Pipeline, a 760-mile NGL pipeline extending from southwestern Wyoming to Conway, Kan.

ONEOK, LP

This represents the Sterling III phase, and Sterling I and Sterling II will be reconfigured in this move to extend to Texas.  It was proposed in 2011

  1. Dear Frederica Cade,

I am astonished and overwhelmed by everything i have been reading about the pipelines. We had just bought our first house in Muskego, Wisconsin and discovered that we have a Transcanadian pipeline running directly through our front yard! I have never heard of any of this before today! We have a three year old son and all we want to do is protect him. I feel we need answers as to what we should do!! Are there safety concerns? We don’t know were to turn for answers! I am sick about this! I am hoping that you can guide us in the right direction.

    Thank you for you time,

    Lisa B.
