Since 2013 the AKP and the Gulen Movement have been in conflict. The Gulen Movement is led by Turkish preacher, Fethullah Gulen. AKP, the political party of the Turkish Government is chaired by Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan. On election day Michael Flynn wrote his infamous op-ed asking the United Stated to extradite Fethullah Gulen back to Turkey where he accuses Gulen of creating a coup to overtake the Turkish government by Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan.
Former National Security Adviser Michael FLynn received payment of over $500,000 to lobby on behalf of the Turkish government. Flynn never filed as a foreign agent and was forced to file retroactively as a foreign agent for another country. Flynn also had several involvements with Russia which he accused of representing.
To deal with the matter in October 2015 it was announced Turkey had hired international law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP to investigate the activities of Gulen. By Dec. 7, 2015 Amsterdam and Partners LLP had already filed a lawsuit in U.S. District court in Pennsylvania where Fethulah Gulen has lived in exile since 1999. A lawsuit that began about a governmental coup expanded to the charter schools created by Gulen.
On June 30, 2016 the case in U.S. court system was thrown out.
On August 10, 2016 Amsterdam and Partners LLP created contract with 5W Public Relations (5WPR) to be ‘Public Relations consulting services on behalf of the Republic of Turkey.’
In addition to those.fees outlined in the original contract dated August 10,2016 and those of
Addendum A, Client agrees to pay 5W PR an additional fee of $ 10,000 per month for the period
of May 16,2017 – November15,2017, for a tola! additional fee of $60,000 for the six (6) month
period, plus expenses as detailed in the original contract.
In May 217 5WPR filed with the U.S. government that they were foreign agents to the Turkish government of behalf of law firm Amsterdam and Partners LLP.
On Friday June 23, 2017 it was announced 5WPR was public relations for Eric Trump Jr’s foundation. Eric Trump Foundation has changed its name to Curetivity. Oddly when it was reported 5WPR was representing Eric Trump, 5WPR CEO, Ronn Torossian had no comment
In June 2017 the Eric Trump foundation was accused of taking money intended to cancer patients to put into the Trump family business.
Jay Sekulow also a part of the Trump legal team is also represented by 5WPR. Jay Sekulow has been pushing for the release of a North Carolina pastor, Andrew Brunson, jailed in Turkey for immigration violations. Before joining the President’s team Jay Sekulow had lobbied the Trump White House on the issue.
5WPR CEO Ronn Torossian sees nothing wrong with the actions of Michael Flynn. On February 17, 2017, days after Michael Flynn had resign as National Security Adviser to Donald Trump’s Administration; 5WPR CEO Ronn Torossian wrote the article “Flynn Coverage Not Helping Media’s Cause”. On MAY 19, 2017 Torossian would write the article “Deport Radical Islamist Preacher to Turkey and Maintain American Interests”
Out of all the PR firms this would be the one, hired by Eric Trump.
