Part 1 Why does an Online Permit submitted Nov. 6, 2016 name Donald Trump for the Washington D.C. Hilton’s Curio

Donald Trump won’t reveal his taxes and we really don’t know the extent of his business ties but according to a DC permit Donald Trump is must begin work within one year after permit is submitted.  The Jay Livesay listed is listed a couple times among the other permits submitted in November 2016, but Donald Trump name is listed once.  Donald Trump name is listed on an online DC permit for electrical work.

Any issued permit will become invalid if the authorized work is not begun within one year after the permit is issued, or if the authorized work is suspended or abandoned for a period of one year, after the date work is begun.

You will be fined if you start construction before you get a permit or after it expires.

The permit is listed as supplemental

Supplemental Building Permit

These permits are required to install supplemental systems in buildings, per § 105.1.13 of the DC Municipal Regulations (DCMR). Only licensed DC contractors for each specific trade may apply for these permits. You may be required to complete a building permit for the supplemental permit.

The Hotel which is named Double Tree is to be folded into the Hilton’s Curio. The Curio and the Double Tree belong to the Hilton’s, but the Curio brand was created in 2014. In May 2016 its reported the DoubleTree was purchased by KHP Capital Partner

The new owner plans to reposition the hotel, located at 1515 Rhode Island Ave. NW, and fold it into Hilton’s Curio brand, according to Mike Depatie, managing partner of KHP. Curio is a collection brand of independently named hotels that still fall within the hotelier’s reservation system.

Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT) launched Curio in 2014 and the collection now has 23 properties. The hotel will be renamed, although what it will be called is also to be determined. This will be the first hotel in the Curio collection in Greater Washington.
