The Republican Party has truly become a party lead by Libertarians like the Koch brothers and Grover Norquist, then followed by Republican lobbyist group, the United Chamber of Commerce. Of course not to forget the many Republican Think Tanks located state from state. People promote the United Chamber of Commerce as he’s own your side when in fact this republican lobbyist who would have nothing to do with green energy. Tom Donohue and his group the U.S. Chamber of Commerce support the oil and gas industry.
Clearly therr are other things that Democrats and the Devos would not agree with, but in the matter of green energy their could be a common ground. Instead of republicans leaders across the country do ing the right thing they are either being lead like children by people like the Koch brothers and Grover Norquist or either they are trying to dictate to the public a woman’s body is not her own and we the people have not the right to say in how we should live and treating others.
This is a follow-up on big donors the Devos family is invested in energy but is also in the very corner of those and funding those that stand at the top of opposing Green Energy. They donate to the Koch brothers who are leading the attack on Green energy while funding think tanks, like the religious think tank, the Acton Institute. In March the Acton Institute believe had an event against green energy, and also have an event on April 26 against green energy.
Titled “The False Promise of Green Energy” — Lecture Description:
Green energy advocates claim that transforming America to an economy based on wind, solar, and biofuels will produce jobs for Americans, benefits for the environment, and restore American industry.

Perhaps the Devos are true business people to their core, regardless of their party’s ideals, but it is well know among Republicans the Devos support green energy as creating jobs. That’s the little secret they probably wouldn’t want their voters to know that one of the biggest supporters of the Republican party also would agree with the President in on focusing on green energy to create jobs. In 2006 when Michigan was building plants to produce cars using ethanal, Dick DeVos ran for governor promoting Michigan’s car industry becoming green. DeVos was very vocal and putting up ads that said Michigan must promote alternative fuels like ethanol so that they can power Michigan cars.
Besides the previous mention joint venture between the Devos in another blog , about their investment management firm Windquest Group, Inc involved with Pro Services, Inc, and ElectraTherm Inc.’s creating what they call the ‘Green Machine’.
The Devos’s Windquest Group is also involved in a venture with Cascade Engineering and Triple Quest involving water filtration.
The Devos are also invested in Wind Turbines. They are invested in Holland’s Energetx Composites, who manufacture equipment for the production of utility-scale wind turbine blades.
ElectraTherm and Pro Renewables estimate the $150,000 to $200,000 Green Machine will pay for itself in four to five years. However, they point out incentives are available that can reduce that period to two or three years. And its life expectancy is 20 years.
“With ElectraTherm’s technology, we can help our customers capitalize on this free and abundant source to produce clean energy,” DeVos said. “It may not be flashy; it may not be particularly trendy. But it is based on both sound economics and sound environmental science.”
When The Windquest Group and Pro Services were looking into potential renewable energy solutions, economic efficiency was just as important a criteria as environmental efficiency.
“We believe that what’s good for the environment and good for business can be one and the same,” said Betsy DeVos, board chair of The Windquest Group. “It does not have to cost more to do the right thing.”
Schauer said. He hopes to have 10 to 20 people employed in the next five or six months, and perhaps 100 to 200 people in two or three years.

This is a sample of how the Devos donate. This doesn’t include all the Republican Foundation, thinktanks, and other groups the family donates to those opposed to green energy.
