The Devos is a large Republican family who has given millions to the Republican Party. New Energy isn’t something you would expect Republicans to support but prior to a 2010 announcement the Devos Family was talking about new energy. The Devos in early 2010 said that they had plans for were lauching through their company Windquest Group a new joint venture with Pro Services INC.
Devos is considered the “A” crowd to Republican Party. Like the Koch Brothers, their up there. Koch’s and the Devos you can say are intertwine. The Devos family and the Koch brothers have given millions and millions of dollars to the Republican Party and its candidates. In a MotherJones article the Devos are described as being a part of the Koch brother’s Million-Dollar Club, where the Koch brother tapes were leaked. The Republicans sit together on several boards togethers, so its quite understood Libertarians like the Koch Brothers followed by Republicans see only Black Gold, they have no interest in exploring green energy.
Some of the things the Devos are involved are The Council for National Policy* Board of Governors; Family Research Council Board of Directors; Focus on the Family Board of Directors; member of Calvin College’s board of trustees. Helen Devos is also a big supporter of School vouchers.
Vice President Joe Biden recently had this to say on Republicans on new energy, “They’re emasculating all the efforts to deal with renewable energy,” Biden charged Sunday in a pre-taped interview on CBS’ Face the Nation. The Republicans “have no policy,” he added, including the GOP presidential candidates who are pushing for more U.S. oil and gas drill
“I do think the idea of compromise is still alive and well with the Democrats and the Congress,” he continued. “But with enough of a minority in the Republican Party controlling the majority, there is no room for compromise. I mean none.”
Why would the Devos if they have plans for clean energy then turn around and provide millions in campaign donations to the Republican party so opposed to clean energy? Some things just don’t make sense and thats one of these.
