Koch industries seem to have their brand on everything Republican, so no surprise that the group that started the Cut, Cap, Balance Plede have ties to the Koch Brothers. In the last few weeks of talks of the debt ceiling, there has been talk of the Cut Cap, Balance Pledge Republicans have signed. So who is the owener of this Pledge. When you first look on paper its FreedomsWorks and FreedomWork is run by Dick Armey. But when you look at the history of FreedomWorks, FreedomWorks actually originated from Citizen for a Sound Economy. Wait let me rephrase that FreedomWorks, use to be name Citizens for Sound Economy. Citizens for Sound Economy and Citizens for Sound Economy was established in 1984 by Davod H. Koch and Charles G. Koch along with Richard H. Fink.
In 2004 News Release CSE annouce how they were trying to put Ralph Nader on the Ballots.
“In 2004, CSE was accused of illegitimately throwing its weight behind George W. Bush’s re-election. The group’s Oregon branch attempted to get Ralph Nader on the Presidential ballot to dilute Democratic support for John Kerry”
I have to wonder in 2010 did the Koch brothers and their partners try this effort again in getting other candidates on the ballots to syphon of votes.
In 2004 Press release of CSE forming organization FreedomWorks wrote:
Citizens for a Sound Economy Foundation

The CSE has now merged with Empower America to form a new organization called FreedomWorks (read the MT story about the merger here). CSE was/ is a Washington-based think tank founded by David and Charles Koch. Charles Koch also co-founded the Cato Institute.
Current Chairman (July 2004) is Dick Armey, former Republican House Majority Leader.

Dick Armey was Chairman of FreedomWorks but it was Matt Kibbe, the Koch Brothers’s usual partner in everything from Koch Industries to Kochs other political organizations. Fink has been the president and CEO of FreedomWorks since 2003.
Who is Richard H. Fink?
Richard H. Fink is none other than executive vice president of Koch Industries and he is CEO of Koch Companies Public Sector, LLC. Richard Fink, besides be co-founder and President Citizens for a Sound Economy Foundation, which is now the Americans for Prosperity Foundation he also sits on the board of the Mercatus Center another creation of the koch brothers as well the board of the ‘Charles G. Koch, the Claude R. Lambe, the Fred C. and Mary R. Koch charitable foundations’, and ‘Americans for Prosperity Foundation’. Fink is credited with the concept of CSE which was supposed to for advocate free-market policies effectively in Washington.
For 2004 Citizens for a Sound Economy split into FreedomWorks, for 501c4 advocacy activity, and Americans for Prosperity Foundation. In other words they didn’t
really split they just made more possible for Koch Industries to donate more money. In the last 10 years Koch controlled foundations have given FreedomWorks $12 million in donations. I find it hard to believe Koch are completely done with either one of those groups. If anything it provided a way for twice the donation to be given. Between 1986 to 1990 they gave Citizens or a Sound Econom $5 million from various Koch foundations. FreedomWorks is considered one of the major supporter of the Tea Party just like the Koch Brothers.
Out of all major donors Koch Industry tops the lists for Citizens for a Sound Economy and FreedomWorks was founded in 1984 as Citizens for a Sound Economy
“The only way we will ever reduce the debt and balance the budget is if America beats Washington and tea party activists take over this process.” — Matt Kibbe
Who is Matt Kibbe?
Matt Kibbe is the President and CEO of FreedomWorks and previously he worked Citizens for a Sound Economy. At CitizenS or a Sound Economy Gibbes worked as a policy analyst. As previously mention Citizens for a Sound Economy was founded by the Koch brothers. Kibbe’s is know for his comments on the Tea Party which you can describe as frequent.
Matt Kibbe of FreedomWorks said years ago Citizens for a Sound Economy was the Koch brother’s driving force to take the Kochs’ “heavy ideas and translate them for mass America”. Charles and David Koch are credited with lauching severa; ‘citizen’s advocacy group.
In 2009 Grover Norquist says that Americans for Prosperity’s (AFP’s) August 2009 anti-health care rallies were instrumental in undermining Obama’s policy initiatives. Norquist says the rallies “discouraged deal-makers,” Republicans who otherwise might have considered cooperating with Obama and Congressional Democrats, and affected corporate donors to Washington lobbyists, steering millions into the hands of Republican lobbyists. More recent Statement from Freedomworks mentioning the Tea Party:
“Spending is out of control. Politicians of both parties continue to pile a mountain of debt on our children. A debt-induced economic crisis now threatens our country. Yet Washington remains incapable of providing the bold leadership and tough decisions these difficult times demand.
“Therefore, just as the tea party grassroots took matters into their own hands in the 2010 elections, generating a bottom-up “Contract From America” that became the unofficial platform of the tea party movement, so the Tea Party Debt Commission will tackle the enormous fiscal challenge that our political leaders seem incapable of addressing.
Recently FreedomWork has created a Tea Party Debt Commission which FreedomWorks suggest the Tea Party will make proposals and recommendations designed to balance the budget and presented to Congressional Leaders.
